My lab offers various diagnostic services focused on detecting phytoplasmas in plants, their insect vectors, and assessing vector populations. General phytoplasma testing is available for non-palm plants that are displaying typical symptoms associated with phytoplasma infection (witches broom, phyllody, bunchy top, yellowing, and decline), sample submission form and instructions can be found here.

This test also includes screening for the recently discovered phytoplasma (CPB) in nutsedges.

Additionally, lethal bronzing (LB) and lethal yellowing (LY) are phytoplasma diseases of palms that cause death infected plants. Specific tests for these pathogens and instructions for sampling/submission are found here.
